The Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Reporting Program (SNF QRP) is a stand-alone IMPACT Act program, meaning its requirements and outcomes are not connected to the Skilled Nursing Facility Value-Based Purchasing (SNF VBP) program. So under traditional fee-for-service Medicare Part A, SNFs potentially can take a financial hit from the SNF QRP or the SNF VBP—or from both programs in a single fiscal year—every year effective with FY 2019 beginning Oct. 1, 2018.
The SNF QRP runs on two separate but related tracks: the payment track and the publicly reported quality measure (QM) track.
