Nursing and therapy teams serving in post-acute care are now presented with unique challenges and opportunities in treatment of COVID-19 patients. This course will serve as an overview of best practices for clinical assessment, methods for limiting cough eliciting procedures, and treatment of swallowing disorders (i.e. dysphagia) which are compounded by and resulting from active COVID-19 diagnoses and the following recovery. Resources will be provided to address the dynamics of clinical practice in PAC settings, including clinical decision-making, methods to maintain quality of like and choice, and service delivery options for those providing dysphagia services in this era of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
