July Challenge Question

By AANAC - July 23, 2018

Question: A resident on Medicare Part A was admitted on Sunday, but neither physical therapy or occupational therapy evaluated or treated the resident until Tuesday morning. The resident then received skilled therapy treatment on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Late Friday night, the resident was discharged back to the hospital. The NAC determined that the resident met the criteria for a Medicare short-stay and completed a 5-day assessment combined with a SOT, PPS Discharge, and OBRA discharge return anticipated assessment.  Z0100 resulted in a RUG score of RHC and Z0150 resulted in a non-therapy RUG score of CC1.

What RUG level(s) would be used for payment during this stay?
