AANAC Membership Committee

The Board of Directors has established a Membership Committee for AANAC. Committee meeting information as well as the meeting schedule and minutes are posted here. The AANAC Membership Committee meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. The meetings are by telephone conference call. All members may join in the discussions; decisions requiring a committee vote can be voted on only by committee members.
- Composition: A Membership Committee of the AANAC Program shall consist of a chair and at least five members. One of the members of the committee must be a board member.
- Purpose/Goals: To promote and maintain the growth and development of the membership in AANAC.
- Responsibilities of Committee:
- Promote membership recruitment and retention.
- Maintain and disseminate current information on related activities and membership benefits offered by AANAC to prospective members.
- Act as a resource to members and assist with planning and development of new member orientation.
- Provide the Board of Directors with pertinent information regarding membership concerns and public policy issues.
- Provide feedback and recommendations regarding potential chapter development.
- Generate ideas and theories to support membership growth.
- Select award winners annually from nominations.
- Select scholarship winners annually from applications.
- Assist with the selection of speakers and topics for annual conferences with a scaling process.
- Review member surveys and provide recommendations on course of action.
- Meetings: As determined by the committee's work plan. Committee members accomplish work via email, phone and correspondence. If possible, a meeting may be held at a conference.
- Terms/Commitment: The Board Chair shall appoint the Committee Chair for the committee and assign a member of the Board to the committee. The Committee Chair serves a term of two (2) years. Members will be recruited via website, newsletter and Discussion Group notices and serve at the discretion of the Committee Chair. The Committee Chair accepts recommendations from AANAC staff, board members, and the general membership. Each member must commit to actively participate in meetings by reviewing materials in advance and being prepared to share feedback with the committee. The estimated time commitment is two hours per month. Excessive absences shall constitute grounds for removal from the committee by the Committee Chair.
