About AANAC

WHO IS AANAC?

The American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC) is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to supporting clinicians who are involved in the Resident Assessment Instrument/Minimum Data Set (RAI/MDS) process by providing:
  • Accurate and timely information on:
    • Clinical assessment and care planning
    • Regulatory requirements
    • Reimbursement
    • Quality indicators and quality measures
    • Automation and transmission of federally mandated instruments
    • Research
  • Opportunities for basic and advanced RAI/MDS education
  • A strong voice for clinicians in the policy and legislative arena
Founded in February 1999, AANAC has more than 5,500 members nation-wide. With the complexity of the RAI/MDS process surrounding Medicare reimbursement and quality outcomes, coupled with the existence of over 17,000 certified long-term care facilities, the potential exists for over 17,000 members of AANAC.
