AANAC Master Teacher Requirements

Master Teacher Criteria for MDS 3.0 RAC-CT Curriculum

1. Be an RN.
2. Hold and maintain a current 3.0 RAC-CT certification.
3. Submit a current resume reflecting a minimum of 3 full-time or equivalent years experience in the RAI process.
4. Provide evaluations from at least 3 speaking engagements at the state, national or college level that show scores of at least 90% or higher or the equivalent. In-services and corporate trainings do not fulfill this requirement.
5. Pass the MDS 3.0 oral exam with a score of 80% or higher ($300); if candidate does not pass on the first attempt, a second attempt may be made after a 90-day waiting period (additional $300). If the candidate does not pass the oral exam on the 2nd attempt, no further exams will be administered.

Master Teacher Criteria for C-NE Curriculum

1. Be an RN.
2. Hold and maintain a current C-NE certification.
3. Submit a current resume reflecting a minimum of 3 full-time or equivalent years experience in a long-term care leadership position, such as director of nursing, nurse consultant, corporate clinician, etc.
4. Provide evaluations from at least 3 speaking engagements at the state, national or college level that show scores of at least 90% or higher or the equivalent. In-services and corporate trainings do not fulfill this requirement.
5. Pass the C-NE oral exam with a score of 80% or higher ($300); if candidate does not pass on the first attempt, a second attempt may be made after a 90-day waiting period (additional $300). If the candidate does not pass the oral exam on the 2nd attempt, no further exams will be administered.
